Earlier today, Eric Bischoff blasted a conjectured “news story” that suggested he was a consultant for iMPACT Wrestling and that his contract expired in three months. The apparently false report was posted by PWInsider’s Dave Scherer, a person that Bischoff frequently targets as someone who does not tell the truth or just downright lies in his reports about the former WCW President. Here is the report that Scherer posted on his website:
As reported yesterday, Vince Russo is still working for TNA as a consultant. He is not the only big name still under contract. Eric Bischoff is still under a TNA deal and also doing storyline consulting. From what I have been told, there are less than three months left on both men’s contracts with TNA.
And here is Bischoff’s response via his Twitter account:
The same dirt site parasite that confimed that Hulk Hogan was backstage talking to Big Show in Vegas during the @WWE network announcement..

…(and was so obviously wrong) is now posting "news" about my contractural status. As he was about his "Hogan Confirmed Backstage" nonsense

(contiuned)…his "facts" couldn't be more wrong. Just a parasite looking for traffic.

I have not seen a response from Scherer yet, but that doesn’t mean that one won’t be forthcoming. My personal perspective on this situation is that I always take everything I read on a “newz” site with a grain of salt (i.e. I believe less than 10% of the “news stories” that I read because none of them cite an actual source). Further, if someone tells me that Mr. Smith (a fictional character I just created for this example) did X, Y, and Z, and then Mr. Smith himself comes up to me and says he did A, B, and C… I’m believing Mr. Smith’s version of his own actions. Sure, he could be telling fibs or trying to get something over on someone, but the vast majority of the time when an accusation is thrown at someone, it’s false.
